“Safe and Equal Learning Partnership delivered excellent safeguarding training to our staff. We were able to discuss our training needs with them in advance and a bespoke programme was created for us that met our needs. The standard of facilitation and supporting materials was very high. Staff were able to question and discuss and this was appreciated by everyone. The participative style of the trainer worked well and resulted in effective, enjoyable and memorable learning.”

“I have been a facilitator, using Safe and Equal Partnership’s face to face training since they started and have been really pleased with the quality and content of the resources and the support they provide.
I was delighted to hear that they were intending to produce an online training package for Safeguarding. Our staff and tutors (in excess of 700) cover a wide geographical area and with a lot of tutors fitting part time teaching around other jobs and commitments and often only teaching for a few hours a week, it is impossible to offer face to face training that they are all able to attend.
The on-line training is a much needed accessible alternative. I contacted Debbie and ACL took part in the pilot of the course. I was really pleased to see the training took into account different types of providers, this option means it is more in context and relevant to Adult Community Learning.
With the majority of our staff needing to update training this year, the programme has been a real asset. So far approximately 100 people have accessed this in the first 2 weeks of it being available. It is clear, easy to use and meets our need as well as being thought provoking and informative. From an organisations perspective it is good value and easy to track staff progress.”

“BCTG have a long and enduring partnership with Safe & Equal Partnership having worked with Debbie and Phil for many years. As a company who manage consortias of independent training providers, (ranging from all sectors across the country) – we have been extremely pleased with the support, training and advice we have received from the team. Our Safeguarding Lead currently facilitates Safe & Equal Partnerships courses, Debbie regularly runs for us “in house” Designated Safeguarding Officer training for our consortia members, and we have recently purchased the newly launched online resource for our consortia members and ourselves to use in staff training.
Debbie’s facilitation is always professional, interesting and enjoyable, she brings a wealth of knowledge to the table and enables participants to really think about their own safeguarding procedures and practice in an innovative way. Members have reported that participation on this and other programmes written and delivered by the team have given them useful practical resources, and improved their confidence in dealing with the many and varied safeguarding situations they are faced with. We look forward to working with the Safe and Equal Learning Partnership in the future and with their excellent team of trainers and consultants.”

“Phil Barnett designed and delivered training for our assessors and instructors on safeguarding and equality & diversity. The sessions were lively, engaging, challenging and enjoyable. They were well resourced. Phil discussed our needs with us prior to delivery, so the content was relevant and tailored to our needs. As a result of his training our staff are more confident in supporting apprentices in a range of challenging situations and with a variety of learning needs. We are confident too in preparing for inspection in these two areas.”

“Debbie Betteridge and I have on a number of occasions worked together in both the design and delivery of safeguarding training. I have found her to be a highly experienced and effective staff trainer who has the ability to shape a programme and programme delivery that is engaging and useful. Her knowledge and experience of Safeguarding and the FE and Skills sector means that the content reflects provider needs and is always up to date and relevant. Working with her has also enabled me to review and further enhance all our safeguarding practice and procedures at NOVA training.”

“Debbie Betteridge has worked with the College to effectively support the review and further enhancement of our safeguarding processes and practices. She has delivered high quality training programmes for our staff at all levels of the organisation. I have always found her to be knowledgeable, effective and she draws well from her own safeguarding experience and practice. Her training is varied, engaging and tailored well for our needs.”

“Phil Barnett has worked closely with Blackpool and The Fylde College on developing a bespoke safeguarding training programme for our Designated Safeguarding Reporters and other senior staff. We found the training extremely useful as it was tailored to suit our own College needs and all staff who attended found it interesting and informative and felt that it helped them in the recognition and on-going management of safeguarding cases.”
